The "right" colours

Everyone knows the feeling - you buy something which looks great in the shop, but when you get it home it just hangs in the wardrobe. You just cannot find the right occasion to wear it.
Perhaps it is simply the wrong colour, a colour which does not match your colour type.

The idea of giving colour advice comes from America.
Four colour types are distinguished: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Colour ranges are associated with these types which each create their own mood. Their colours are gentle, powerful, flowery or earthy.

Which colour type are you?

You can find this out at home without a colour consultant. All you need are the colour boards with the four different shades of red, the colour charts and a big mirror. You should be sitting at a window without direct sunlight; your shoulders should be bare, your hair combed back tightly and you should not be wearing any make-up.
Now hold the colour charts under your face, first the warm colours, then the cold colours. Can you see anything yet? Can you perhaps recognise your own colour group already?
Now take the colour boards with the four red shades and observe the effect of the different shades on your face.

  • Does your skin look rosier or paler?
  • Do your eyes shine intensely or do rings appear under your eyes?
  • Do you look younger or older with the different shades?
  • Do impurities become visible or does your face have smoother contours?

The decisive point is whether your skin has a bluish or a golden yellow base.
